October was a busy month! Working for projects for my current clients (check out the recent rebrand for a local allergist specializing in functional medicine.) Taking on work for new clients (stay tuuuuuuned!) And on top of my usual stuff, I had some great opportunities to speak on content strategy.
AMP-RI
First, I was excited to be asked to speak at AMP-RI, the Association of Marketing Professionals of Rhode Island. This group was founded in 2009 and now has over 500 members. Each month, communication professionals from all around our state gather to network, share ideas, and learn about industry trends. AMP-RI presents expert speakers on topics in the marketing and communications industry. I spoke on blogging and content strategy, because that’s my thing, obvi. But past meetings have included everything from panel discussions to local company profiles.
Check out AMP-RI’s next event, which takes place at the Cambridge Innovation Center in Providence: Marketing to Scale: Driving Local and Global Growth, with Janice Dru, CIC’s Senior Marketing Director. You can find out more information and purchase tickets here.
The Marketing Essentials Podcast
I was also a guest on a podcast this month, which I loooove to do. Anyone who knows me will concur: I love to talk. I also love to learn, and being a podcast guest allows you to do BOTH those things! This podcast is run by some awesome marketing experts:
Alicia Piazza of The Spark Social (shout out to Alicia’s business partner and my friend and colleague Nicole Eller for helping set all this up!)
Bill Parmentier of W.Parmentier Photography
Justin Kerr of Justin Kerr Design
Together, this dynamic trio (wait, I need some alliteration here…TERRIFIC TRIO!) hosts The Marketing Essentials Podcast. Again, I talked about content strategy. (Because, as aforementioned, it’s my thing.) But don’t think for a moment this is your basic content strategy talk. In this podcast, I spill the tea on things like how much it costs, whether to DIY, and some of the sketchy AF stuff I’ve seen in my time in the industry. Give it a listen here!
Speaking out
I truly enjoyed speaking at these events this past month, and I’m ready to do more! So please let me know if you are looking for a speaker on content strategy. On to November!
